With rock fall and avalanche hazard mitigation beginning in late 2018, Finbro Construction completed this 6,000+ sq. ft. east Telluride home in early 2021. Largely constructed of floor to ceiling, structural glass walls, the home has perpetual views of Bridal Veil and Ingram falls. In addition to the glass walls, the floors consisted of highly polished, stained concrete with Alaskan Yellow Cedar ceilings, seamlessly carried from the interior to the exterior and a very minimalist interior with level 5 drywall butted to walnut doors with a reglet joint carrying from the floors around the door jambs. According to Finbro President, Werner Catsman, "The construction of this residence was a combination of intense complexity and the perfection of simplicity. Mitigating the geo hazard, shoring the steep slope and executing a structural assembly consisting of steel, glass and concrete was as cutting edge as mountain construction can get. The interior and exterior finishes, while simple in terms of materials and details, required flawless planning and precision.
